Six Months, Five Journals, and a Lot of Learning!

Six Months, Five Journals, and a Lot of Learning!

Six months ago, I had an idea to create journals that people really needed. I also had an unreasonable amount of belief that I could figure things out as I went along!

Spoiler alert: I did. It was messy, exciting, frustrating, but completely worth it.

When I started this journal business, I didn’t have a grand master plan. I had intent. I had purpose, and a deep belief that writing things down that completely resonated with others could genuinely change lives.

From “What If?” to “I Did That.”

In the space of six months, I’ve created and published five journals, each designed with purpose and heart.

The EMS/Cushings/Laminitis Journal

The Pet Bereavement Journal

Our Dementia Journey

The Ultimate Mindfulness Journal

Loving Through the Storm – A coping Journal for parents

They now exist in three different formats (coil bound, paperback and digital) because life (and journaling styles) aren’t one-size-fits-all.

All of these were created from the heart – because I have been there, dealt with it and got the damn T shirt.

And yes—somewhere between learning margins, formatting meltdowns, and countless revisions, my journals officially made it onto Amazon. That moment deserves a pause. Maybe even a dramatic sip of tea.

Because six months ago, that felt wildly out of reach.

What This Season Has Taught Me

Running a creative business doesn’t just teach you how to design products—it teaches you about yourself.

I’ve learned how persistent I can be when something matters.
I’ve learned that progress doesn’t always move quickly
I’ve learned that confidence grows after you take the leap, not before.

The Work Is Evolving (And So Am I)

As proud as I am of what’s already out in the world, I can feel the next chapter calling.

I’m about to begin my next journal:
I Now Pronounce You Over and Done With

This one is close to my heart – I went through a divorce 15 years ago – and I’m still dealing with it now – on and off.

It’s a divorce recovery journal—created for healing, rebuilding, and rediscovering who you are on the other side of “the end.” It’s about grief, growth, clarity, and quiet strength. It’s not about bitterness or blame. It’s about reclaiming your voice, your peace, and your future. And it’s nothing to be ashamed about either. It happens.

I am also working on my first child’s fiction book. This is something I began over forty years ago, aged just 13 years. I wanted to be an author, even back then. I still have my original tattered manuscript and I am reading through it and slowly re-working bits. I am really excited to be able to see it in print!

Self publishing has opened a great big avenue for me and for others too.

Looking Ahead

If the last six months have taught me anything, it’s this: you don’t need to have everything figured out to begin—you just need to begin.

This business is still growing. I’m still learning. But I’m no longer standing at the starting line wondering if I can. I’m already moving, already building, already becoming.

Here’s to six months of courage.
Here’s to imperfect action.
And here’s to everything still to come.

We can all journal. Some are simply happy to scribble things in a blank book – others enjoy prompts to help the imagination flow.

I like to heal too and you really do get what you put into journaling. There’s never too much or too little- what’s right for you is right for you!

Until next time

Enjoy the quiet moments!
